ANIMUS has arrived
New short story collection published
As of Saturday 22nd November, it’s out – in kindle edition and paperback – here.
On Sunday 23rd November, I’m launching it and signing copies at the Oxford Indie Book Fair. (11 am - 4.30 pm at the Examination Schools, High Street, Oxford. Entry is free!)
Thank you to those who have pre-ordered copies or got your early orders in. I do hope you enjoy the collection – and don’t forget to get those all-important ratings and reviews in too.
So what is it and why did I write it?
Basically, ANIMUS collects nine of the short stories (some very short, one of novelette length) that I’ve been writing alongside the Chasing Mercury series. There are also others, some of which may go into a second volume in the future. And although they cross genres, from my more familiar espionage/political thriller territory to detective stories, historical dramas and satire (with a hint, at least, of the speculative or supernatural), they do have a common theme running through them.
I won’t bang on about it here (hint hint), but if anyone’s interested, I’ve written in greater depth about what inspired the project in my blog.
For now, as always, thanks for your interest and support, which is hugely appreciated. If you can spare a moment to help spread the word on social media, so much the better. And if you fancy trying ANIMUS out for yourself – since it’s a slim volume, it’s very competitively priced! – then like the man said, Go ahead…
